I’m generally more tech savy than older users, but I’m not so young that I don’t remember a time before touch screens. I grew up with Windows 95 and loading up DOS software like Oregon Trail or Mavis Teaches Typing. I found this software relatively easy to use, but I believe a lot of that has to do with being a millennial. This is a great software for designing cross stitch patterns, but it does come with a bit of a learning curve. Usually, people end up with MacStitch if they have a Mac or WinStitch if they use Windows. While websites do exist, if you are serious about making patterns, having a copy of the pattern saved to your computer and in the cloud that you can edit in the future is important. ![]() If you have a Mac, your options are a bit more limited. While I enjoy making my own designs, I keep seeing a lot of people wondering how they can make their own cross stitch patterns, which software is a good choice, and then looking for more resources on how to use the software. ![]() I kept designing and stitching however and eventually made to plunge to open up my own store. Until 2020 I made patterns just for myself and either created designs I wasn’t confident in or was too nervous to share with others. ![]()
